One Month In: A Reflection from our CEO

It has now been just over a month since I joined London Gynaecology, and it has been such a valuable period of listening, observing, and getting a feel for the organisation.
What has stood out most clearly to me is the consistency of the clinical work. Across different teams and settings, there is a shared focus on delivering care that is thoughtful, considered, and grounded in what patients actually need. That is not something that can be simply assumed, for it reflects both the strength of the clinical team and the culture that has been built over time.
Spending time at each of our clinics has been particularly important. It is one thing to talk about women’s health in broad terms, but it is in those day-to-day interactions that the reality becomes clearer. Many of the themes we have reflected on in our recent annual review are immediately recognisable – not as abstract ideas, but as patterns that shape how women experience care.
What has stayed with me is how much patients are often managing before they reach us. By the time they come into clinic, they are not simply seeking a diagnosis but they are looking for clarity, reassurance, and a sense that they are being taken seriously.
There is also a real opportunity in that. London Gynaecology is in a strong position, with our clinical expertise and a genuinely patient-centred approach. The next phase will be about building on that, by strengthening pathways, working closely with partners, and continuing to ensure a service that is both high quality and consistent in how it feels to patients.
It is still early, but there is a clear sense of where we are heading, and I am very much looking forward to what comes next.
