Miss Joanna Cook is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Ipswich Hospital, where she leads on acute gynaecology, early pregnancy and recurrent and late pregnancy loss. She is also in charge of postgraduate training of resident doctors in obstetrics and gynaecology. With over 20 years of experience, she is known for her individualised, evidence-based approach to care, supporting women with a wide range of conditions.

Her clinical interests include:
● Menstrual disturbances
● Pelvic pain
● Menopause symptoms
● Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
● Recurrent or late pregnancy loss

Joanna graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2003 and also holds a degree from University College London. She trained at several leading London hospitals before earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Imperial College London for her research on epigenetic changes in pregnancy. Her academic work has led to the publication of numerous research papers.

Miss Cook is a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a member of the British Menopause Society, reflecting her ongoing commitment to professional development and consistently high standards of care.


She lives in Suffolk with her husband and two daughters and outside work enjoys family life in the countryside.
