Mr Javaid Muglu MBBS MRCOG FACOG

Mr Muglu is the lead consultant in gynaecological cancer care and an advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham. He specialises in cancer prevention, early diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment for gynaecological cancers. He has developed one-stop clinics, offering same-day scans and biopsies to streamline diagnosis and improve patient experience.

Mr Muglu became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2013. He trained at Barts Cancer Centre and the Royal London Hospital, gaining recognition as a specialist in gynaecological cancer care. He has held senior leadership roles, including clinical director for gynaecological services and currently chairs several regional programmes to enhance care across south-east London. He also serves as a council member for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

His clinical expertise also includes managing endometriosis and supporting reproductive and hormonal health in women during and after menopause. His care is holistic and patient-centred, with a focus on long-term wellbeing.

An experienced speaker and researcher, Mr Muglu regularly presents at both national and international conferences. He has led research in obstetrics and gynaecology and continues to mentor colleagues and train future clinicians.
