Miss Heena Mehra MBBS MS FRCOG

Miss Heena Mehra is a Consultant Gynaecologist with over a decade of experience supporting women with a wide range of gynaecological and reproductive health concerns. Patients commonly see Heena for:

• ultrasound scanning, including HyCoSy scans
• early pregnancy symptoms
• menstrual problems
• fibroids
• endometriosis
• laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery
• menopause concerns
• vulval conditions
• fertility investigations.

She currently leads the Early Pregnancy Unit at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, where she supports women through assessment, reassurance and ongoing care at what can be an emotionally uncertain time. Heena therefore understands how stressful early pregnancy concerns can feel and focuses on careful investigation, clear communication and compassionate support throughout.

Heena has broad experience across general and specialist gynaecology, including minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery and open procedures when needed. She has also been closely involved in introducing newer diagnostic and treatment approaches within the NHS.

In clinic, Heena is known for her warm, empathetic manner and her ability to put patients at ease. She takes time to listen, encourages questions and explains findings and options clearly, so patients feel informed and supported in making decisions about their care.

Alongside her clinical work, Heena has held senior leadership roles in women’s health and is actively involved in mentoring and supporting colleagues. Patients benefit from this experience through her thoughtful and well-organised approach to care.

Outside of work, Heena enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with family and friends, interests that reflect her balanced and considerate approach to both life and medicine.
