Miss Avni Batish is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who supports women with a wide range of gynaecological concerns, particularly symptoms that are worrying, disruptive or difficult to live with. Patients commonly see her for abnormal cervical smear results, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, PCOS and abnormal uterine bleeding.
She is the Clinical Lead for Obstetrics at East Surrey Hospital and completed her specialist training in London. Alongside her obstetric work, Avni has extensive experience in gynaecology, including the assessment of symptoms where cancer needs to be carefully excluded. She understands how anxious this uncertainty can feel and focuses on timely investigation, clear explanations and reassurance where appropriate.
Avni has particular expertise in colposcopy and outpatient hysteroscopy, allowing her to assess abnormal smear results and abnormal bleeding in a focused and supportive setting. These skills often help patients get clarity sooner and avoid unnecessary delays or repeat appointments.
In clinic, Avni is known for her calm, patient-focused manner. She takes time to listen, explains findings in plain language and works collaboratively with patients to agree next steps that feel clear and manageable. Her approach is grounded in evidence-based care, while always keeping the individual patient’s concerns and priorities at the centre.
Outside of work, Avni enjoys practising yoga and spending time with her family.
