Insurance Frequently Asked Questions
Most insurers require a GP referral before approving a specialist appointment. We recommend checking with your insurer before booking.
We commonly work with providers including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, WPA, Healix, Allianz, Bupa and Cigna. If your insurer is not listed, please contact us and we will be happy to advise.
Please have the following ready:
- Your insurance membership number
- An authorisation code from your insurer
- A GP referral letter (if required by your insurer)
After obtaining a GP referral, contact your insurer directly to request approval for your consultation or treatment. They will provide you with an authorisation code to share with us.
What if I do not have my authorisation code yet?
You can still contact us to arrange your appointment, but you may be responsible for any fees if insurance approval is not obtained before your visit.
This depends on your policy. Some insurers may apply an excess or only cover part of the consultation or treatment fees.
In most cases, yes. However, depending on your insurer and policy terms, you may be asked to pay some fees directly.
If your insurer declines coverage, you are still welcome to proceed on a self-pay basis. We can provide transparent pricing before your appointment.
Can I self-pay for part of my treatment?
Yes. If your insurance only covers part of your care, you can pay any remaining balance directly.
Coverage varies between policies and insurers. We recommend checking directly with your insurer regarding diagnostics, scans and procedures.
AXA Health insurance generally does not cover routine screening tests, including routine smear tests (cervical screening), as these are considered preventative, not medically necessary for diagnosis
