Dr Ora Jesner is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Whipps Cross Hospital. She completed her undergraduate training at Cambridge University and her clinical training at University College London. Dr Jesner’s specialist training was in the North Central and East London deanery and she completed a post graduate certificate in medical ultrasound from King’s College London.
Her main interests are scanning in early pregnancy and gynaecology, hysteroscopy, laparoscopic gynaecological surgery and vulval disease. She is the lead for the Emergency Gynaecology Unit and also clinical lead for Governance in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Whipps Cross Hospital. She has led service development and quality improvement projects for ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage care and has presented her work at national and international conferences.
Dr Jesner is passionate about teaching and training. She was responsible for the medical student teaching programme at Whipps Cross Hospital and currently is the Clinical Educator for junior doctors in her department. She developed a programme for training community based advisors on women’s health within faith communities. She also created and ran the successful See One Club, a practical training forum for doctors in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across London.
Dr Jesner is fluent in Hebrew. She enjoys art and crafting, is a CrossFit enthusiast and loves spending time with her four children.
Mr Tomasz Lukaszewski is a senior consultant in reproductive medicine at one of the leading IVF clinics, IVI London. With over 15 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, he has worked in both private and NHS settings. His extensive professional background includes international experience in the UK at the Royal London Hospital and later at the University College London Hospital. Additionally, he has worked in Poland at the Obstetrics and Gynaecology University Hospital.
During his time at the University College London Hospital, he completed a fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Minimal Access Surgery. While at the Royal London Hospital, Mr Lukaszewski made significant contributions to the Endometriosis Centre and Chronic Pelvic Pain Clinic. This experience provided him with a deeper understanding of tailoring individual care for women with severe endometriosis and complex pelvic pain, addressing not only fertility issues but also general well-being.
He offers a full range of fertility investigations and treatments. He is an expert in fertility preservation in the form of egg, sperm, or embryo freezing. Additionally, he specialises not only in IVF treatments with or without pre-implantation genetic testing, but also in ROPA treatment (“shared motherhood”) for same-sex female couples and egg donation with surrogacy for same-sex male couples. He also provides guidance for individuals wishing to use donated gametes (sperm or eggs) or embryos.
In addition to his clinical work, Mr Tomasz Lukaszewski successfully completed a 4-year PhD program in Fetal Medicine, earning a PhD degree. Subsequently, he was appointed as a lecturer by Poznan University of Medical Sciences, demonstrating his commitment to both clinical practice and academic pursuits.
Dr. Alisha Esmail graduated with a Distinction in Medicine and Surgery from Imperial College London in 2016, having also completed an intercalated Bachelor’s degree in Reproductive Sciences (2014).
She works in General Practice and has specialised in Women’s Health, for which she holds both a postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (2021) and a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health (2023). She also provides the fitting of Contraceptive Intrauterine devices and the Subdermal Implants (LOC IUT & SDI, 2023).
Dr. Esmail works part-time as a Medical Advisor to ‘Femtech’ startups, such as Flo Health, and also serves as a Board Trustee for the Sister Circle – a London-based women’s health charity, that supports vulnerable pregnant women and FGM survivors. To unwind, she competes in Latin Ballroom dancing, and enjoys Interior Design.

She specialises in early pregnancy, ultrasound scanning, recurrent miscarriage, outpatient hysteroscopy, menopause and ambulatory gynaecology. She qualified from St George’s University London and trained in Northeast London.
Dr Priyanka Patel is a Consultant Ambulatory Gynaecologist at the Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. She qualified from the University of Cambridge in 2002 and initially trained as a General Practitioner. She worked as a GP in Greenwich for 5 years and has also worked as a Specialty Doctor in Sexual and Reproductive Health. Her main interest was outpatient gynaecology which encouraged her to specialise and embark on the consultant grade training programme in Community Sexual and Reproductive Health (CSRH) which she completed at Homerton Hospital in 2020. During her training, she also became a BSCCP accredited colposcopist.
Her main interests are in ambulatory gynaecology including colposcopy, gynaecological scanning and outpatient hysteroscopy. She also specialises in a wide area of medical gynaecology including heavy menstrual bleeding, polycystic ovarian syndrome and menopause care. Dr Patel can provide all methods of contraception including the fitting of intrauterine devices and subdermal implants.
Priyanka has a real interest in improving women’s health. She is a trustee of a small Cambridge-based charity, Rama Foundation. One of their current projects aims to improve the health of the women living in the slums of Rishikesh and Haridwar, India. Outside of work she loves swimming, baking and has two lively young daughters who keep her very busy!
Miss Avni Batish is a consultant gynaecologist and obstetrician and clinical lead (obstetrics) at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, having completing her specialist training from London Deanery in 2016.
Miss Batish has completed advanced training skills module (RCOG) in colposcopy, with BSCCP accreditation, and benign gynaecological surgery (outpatient hysteroscopy) and advanced labour ward practice.
Miss Batish has interest in abnormal smear management, fibroid management, endometriosis and abnormal uterine bleeding, PCOS, suspected female genital tract malignancies and chronic pelvic pain. Outside of her clinical responsibilities, Miss Batish enjoys yoga and spending time with her family.
Dr Mehrnoosh (Mez) Aref-Adib is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at Whipps Cross Hospital (Barts Health) in London. Having qualified from Cambridge and UCL medical Universities she undertook specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in North Central London. She spent 1 year undertaking a minimal access fellowship in Melbourne, Australia in 2017. As part of her fellowship she obtained certification in hysteroscopy and laparoscopy. She has a broad experience in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has worked in busy east and north London hospitals.
She obtained a post graduate medical certificate in Ultrasound from King’s College London in 2016 and has BSCCP accreditation in colposcopy. She is currently Audit lead for women’s health at her NHS Trust.
Dr Aref-Adib is able to perform gynaecological/early pregnancy ultrasound, colposcopy and a variety of operative procedures. Her interests are in the management of fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian cysts, and heavy periods, amongst other common gynaecological concerns.
Dr Aref-Adib is a keen teacher and has set up and run multiple courses in the UK and Australia including on ultrasound, laparoscopy and intrauterine device insertion for trainees and Gps. She has published widely – writing journal articles and book chapters. She regularly attends meetings and presents her work in oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences. She is a member of the BSGE (British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy) SCOPE team and writes articles and moderates webinars for this society.
She has 3 children and speaks Farsi fluently and French to a good standard and enjoys dancing, spinning and socialising.
Miss Sapna Shah is Consultant Gynaecologist who practices privately and within the NHS at The Royal Free London (Barnet & Chase Farm site), where is also Colposcopy lead.
Miss Shah’s qualified as a Consultant Gynaecologist in 1999 from Royal Free Medical School and completed a PhD in HPV and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in immunocompromised women. Miss Shah specialises in colposcopy, vulval disease and outpatient hysteroscopy and is a member of the BSCCP, BSSVD and Faculty of Family Planning.

City of London | The Portland HospitalMr Hemant Vakharia is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon and Clinical Director for women’s services at Barnet Hospital, part of the Royal Free NHS Trust. Mr Vakharia qualified from the Royal Free & University College Medical school and trained in the North Central & East Thames rotation. During his training, he also completed additional training at Birmingham Women’s Hospital where he completed his advanced training in minimal access surgery.
Through his additional training, he became proficient in the minimal access management of many gynaecological conditions which include endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding and he manages these on a regular basis in his NHS practice.
In addition to the above, he regularly manages patients who present with pelvic pain, period pain, couples who have difficulty conceiving and any general gynaecological complaint. Ms Swer graduated from Trinity College, Dublin and trained for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a number of reputable London hospitals. Ms Swer has publications and book chapters in both early pregnancy and obstetrics.
Ms Swer feels privileged in being able to help women through all aspects of their reproductive life.

He completed his general gynaecology training in busy hospitals in the East of England and his subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology at Barts Gynaecological Cancer Centre.
Mr. Phadnis is co-lead for Colposcopy at Royal London Hospital. He is co-chair of the Gynaecological Oncology Multidisciplinary team meeting at The London Clinic, where diagnosis and management of patients with suspected cancer is discussed. He is also on the Cancer Advisory Board for a leading pharmaceutical company.
His research included investigations into association of pregnancy related complications following treatment of precancer of cervix. He has won several prizes in national and international conferences. He was awarded the RCOG-Bernhard Baron Travelling fellowship to visit centre of excellence in Germany to expand his expertise in ovarian cancer surgery.
He is an expert in complex minimally invasive and open abdominal surgery. His particular interests include fertility preservation in gynaecological cancer, counselling and management of familial gynaecological cancer and advanced stage ovarian cancer cytoreduction surgery. He is an experienced hysteroscopic surgeon. He has more than 10 years of experience as a colposcopist and is an accredited trainer with the BSCCP.

Dr. Renfrew received his medical degree from University College Medical School, University of London in 1994, achieving prizes in all subjects at Finals – Medicine, Surgery, Clinical Pharmacology, Pathology and Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with Honours in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and the Joint Hetley and Aitchison Prize for the best overall performance in clinical finals in the University. Laura is fully certified nutritional therapist, who has worked in nutritional therapy for 14 years, she qualified at the prestigious Institute for Optimum Nutrition, which is recognised as one of the leading centres for nutritional training and education.
Laura has worked with London Gynaecology over the last year and supported our patients and their treatment plans with targeted nutritional intervention.
Laura became passionate about supporting pregnant women during her own pregnancies, noticing first hand the difference the right nutrition and supplementation plan can make. She has since treated numerous pregnant ladies with a range of pregnancy related conditions including; endometriosis, polycystic ovaries, weight management, anaemia and gestational diabetes.
Edel joins the London Gynaecology team as an experienced sonographer – her current position is deputy Ultrasound Manager at Southend University Hospital (NHS Trust).
Having relocated to the UK from Ireland in 2011, Edel studied BsC (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging at University of Hertfordshire. In 2017 she began to specialise in Ultrasound completing a Postgraduate diploma in medical Ultrasound at City University London. Edel has worked in roles as a diagnostic radiographer in A & E and CT scanning.
In addition to her current NHS position where she sees a large number of early pregnancy patients and performs emergency gynae scans, she has worked in the Essex community across several GP surgeries performing abdominal and gynae ultrasound scans.
Edel’s scanning expertise is in abdominal, urinary tract, obstetrics and gynae and she has a special interest in early pregnancy and emergency gynae scans.
She is passionate about ensuring patients feel comfortable and at ease during appointments while treating them with compassion and kindness.

Daniela Pavel is a clinical nurse specialist in Early Pregnancy Unit as well as a sonographer in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound at Watford General Hospital.
Daniela trained in Romania and became a registered nurse with specialist interest in women’s health in 1988. In 2003 decided to settle in England and continue her journey through Women’s Health completing a degree with King’s College London.
Following her passion, in 2013 she completed a Certificate in Medical Ultrasound in Early Pregnancy and Gynaecological Ultrasound. She wanted to train further and in 2016 complete a PGD in Medical Ultrasound in Obstetric and Gynaecology at King’s College London.

Jennifer brings to London Gynaecology extensive experience, having worked as a Senior Staff Nurse on surgical medical wards (specialising in gynaecology) at busy London private hospitals.
Prior to becoming a nurse, Jennifer worked in private banking but left her role to pursue her dreams of becoming a nurse and training in the NHS.
Jennifer provides Nurse-led services at our modern and newly opened clinic located in the historic Austin Friars Square in the City of London, just a short walk from Liverpool St and the city stations every Monday morning. The services include Nurse-led cervical screening options (Primary HPV screening and Co-test smear & HPV Sub-Typing), two HPV Vaccination options and Pre and Post Op care telephone consultations.
In her spare time Jennifer enjoys singing in her local choir, long walks together with her dog Ernie and cooking a range of cuisines – Indian dishes being her favourite!
Daisy has 10 years of experience helping elderly women before moving to London in November 2020. Although working in gynaecology is new to Daisy, she is passionate about her role and being part of the London Gynaecology team where is dedicated to looking after patients and supporting women’s health.
In her spare time, Daisy is also a professional singer, singing at weddings. She enjoys walks and hikes with friends and has hiked one of the hardest mountains in Ireland called Croagh Patrick (4rth tallest mountain and an important site of Pilgrimage in Mayo Ireland). Daisy also likes travelling and loves animals.
Shauna has previously worked at a prestigious London private hospital where she gained much of her gynaecology experience from assisting consultants with different gynaecology procedures each day.

Emma has worked with London Gynaecology for many years and was responsible for developing the brand identity and very first London Gynaecology website in the very beginning. Today her role extends to running the entire business and marketing of the practice, ensuring that the business operates as smoothly and efficiently as the clinical side.
Emma has two young children who keep her busy when she’s not at working with the team at London Gynaecology.
Abby is our Admin Team Lead and ensures the clinic runs smoothly while providing support to the wider admin team of practice secretaries and students in addition to leading the HR across the company.
Abby joined the team in 2017 as our first ever student administrator then a Junior Medical Secretary, progressing to Medical Secretary and now HR and Admin Team Lead. In this past year, Abby completed her Masters in Human Resource Management and Organisational Analysis – she has a degree in Ancient History from UCL, and worked with us as an Admin Assistant during her third year of studies.

Dawn is a medical secretary at London Gynaecology to Mr Saurabh Phadnis and is part of our dedicated administrative and secretarial team. She helps to provide a first-class service to all patients at every stage of the patient pathway.
Dawn joined the team in 2016 and has extensive experience spanning over the last 12 years working within busy private hospitals in London.

Jemma prides herself in taking great care of patients, providing them with the utmost attention and support throughout their healthcare journey.
Outside of work, Jemma is a loving mother to two boys, and shares her home with an adorable dog. In her free time, she enjoys indulging in her passion for cooking.
Marion oversees the financials at London Gynaecology and looks after the financial health of the practice.
Marion has worked in both private and NHS healthcare across both gynaecology and maternity for over 15 years and has an excellent understanding of how women’s healthcare works.
Marion has worked for Mr and Mrs Pisal for over 10 years and is a key member of the London Gynaecology team.
Marion is a mother of two children, she enjoys flower arranging and taking her lovely dog Ruben for walks.
Ayanthi is a senior obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) trainee (ST7) in North and East London at Barnet and Chase farm Hospitals NHS Trust. She has a keen interest in medical education and has a PG certificate in Medical Education.
Ayanthi has written patient information leaflets and guidelines and joins the London Gynaecology team as Medical Information Lead. In her spare time, she enjoys painting, gardening, knitting and crafting with her two young children.
Karl has extensive experience, as a personal assistant. He has worked in many different specialities (ENT, urology, allergy, endocrinology, rheumatology, orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology).
Karl obtained a Modern Languages Degree at Durhan University (French & Spanish).
Outside of work. he has a keen interest in creative writing and tennis.

Prior to joining the London Gynaecology team in September 2021, Julia had been working in childcare for the past year and prior to this had also worked within student accommodation as part of an admin team in a role that required first-class customer service skills.
Julia joined London Gynaecology as receptionist and after doing a wonderful job in front of house, she progressed to Medical Secretary.
Outside of work, Julia enjoys the gym, travelling, exploring new places, and language learning.
Amber worked for Barts Health NHS Trust for the past nine years before joining London Gynaecology as a Front of House Administrator in June 2023. Amber worked previously as a Ward Clerk and Mentor specializing in Gynaecology, Oncology, ENT, Urology and General Surgery.
Amber enjoys spending time with family, listening to music and fishing.
Andrea has a strong background in hospitality and customer facing roles where she gained her experience in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. She decided to shift into administrative roles where she knew she would be able to utilise her customer service experience. Having worked as a Ward Coordinator in a private healthcare setting for the last 2 years, she understands the importance of maintaining a professional and compassionate approach and giving patients the most comfortable experience possible.
Outside of work Andy loves listening to music, cooking and discovering new restaurants, being around friends, going to the gym and travelling to new places.
With over 20 years experience working in accountancy and finance across many sectors and industries, Kathy ensures that the accounts of London Gynaecology run as smoothly as the clinical experience.
In her spare time, Kathy enjoys arts and crafts as well as spending time with her two lovely dogs.
Alisha is a medical student at UCL with a keen interest in obstetrics and gynaecology. She will be starting her Intercalated BSc this year and is specialising in Women’s Health.
Outside of work Alisha enjoys travelling, listening to podcasts and going to the theatre. She has also recently taken up cycling so you may just see her on a Boris Bike around London!
Dr Omar Shafi is a member of the clinical auditing team, playing a key role in the ongoing enhancement of services provided by London Gynaecology. He is presently enrolled on the Graduate Medicine Course at St George’s and read for his PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UCL. He has also collaborated on research projects with our very own consultants.
Outside of his professional commitments, Omar’s interests lie in martial arts and combat sports, with Taekwondo and Muay Thai being particular passions.
Paul is a part of the student admin team, whilst studying for PhD in Paleontology at UCL. He has had years of customer service experience including working in the USA. He always makes sure every patient is in the best hands.
In his spare time Paul likes listening to music and solo-travel across Europe.
Aditi is a part of our admin team and is currently a medical student at UCL. She is hoping to do her intercalated BSc in Pharmacology next year. She has previously worked in GP and dental practices, as well as having experience in retail.
In her spare time, Aditi enjoys reading, music and swimming.
Isabelle is part of our admin team and is currently applying for Graduate Medicine programs after recently graduating from Edinburgh University in English Literature. She has spent time volunteering as a ward helper on Medical Assessment Units and has experience in many customer facing roles, from waitressing to bar tendering.
In her spare time, she enjoys climbing, yoga, and cold-water swimming.
Achele is a part of our administrative team and is currently a Harvard Richardson Postgraduate Fellow working with the ‘HAPPINESS’ project to expand mental health care in Nigeria. She is hoping to study postgraduate medicine next year. She has previously worked in research.
In her spare time, Achele enjoys rugby, listening to podcasts, and visiting museums and the theatre.
Mirko is a medical student at Brunel who did his undergraduate at UCL and his Master’s at Imperial College. He likes to go to the gym, practice martial arts like Muay Thai, MMA and Taekwondo, and also play the drums.
Geoff is working with the management team, advising on strategy, business development and operational detail.
As a scientist by training, he is a keen follower of scientific developments. He is has completed 11 Ironman triathlons, including the Ironman World Championships in Kona twice. He has two boys who also keep him on his toes.
Kim has been a PR professional for over 20 years and has big brand experience spanning healthcare, parenting, interiors and technology, working both agency side and in house.
Now, as a mum of two boys, Kim is a PR consultant and helps London Gynaecology share its knowledge and expertise to a wider audience through media.
Alina is responsible for supporting the development of marketing strategies working closely with Emma Orman. She graduated with BSc in Politics and International Relations from University College London in 2023.
In her free time Alina enjoys music journalism and playing chess!
